Story of the week: "School Days"
  • Reading -read decodable books and the reading book will come home on Thursday.Practice the sight words/decodable words list in the homework folder because testing will happen soon.Please initial question of the week on the white sheet after discussing it with your child.
  • Phonics-complete the worksheet front and back
  • Math- complete the math sheets

Picture Day this Tuesday, Sept. 17th
Conference Week-No school on Wednesday
                             Minimum Days Thursday and Friday
                             Please send in a healthy snack on minimum days, first graders get hungry!
Goal Setting Conferences-please be prompt. Conferences are scheduled in 20 minute intervals. I have a full schedule and look forward to meeting with you. If you are running late or unable to attend please email me immediately.

Room Parents: Our wonderful team includes Lori Cordola (Sierra), Kat Roberts (Kierstyn), and Heidi Metlen (Henry). They will be sending you a letter of introduction sometime this week. We are lucky that they will be taking care of room!

Substitute: The first grade team will be at a district training on Friday,  Sept. 27. Mrs. Birkland, a credentialed substitute teacher, will be here teaching our first graders.

Awards: The first of four awards assemblies this year will be on Tuesday, October 1st. Students that demonstrate performance above and beyond in the areas of scholarship, writing, citizenship, and effort will be given an award. If you receive an invitation this week, your child and you will be invited to attend on Oct. 1st.
