Story of the week: The Farmer in the Hat
skills: We are learning about the long a (a-e) and how the magic/silent "e" helps the a say its name. Also ce (says the s sound) and ge (says the j sound).
comprehension skill: cause/effect
Read decodables 56-59. Read the story of the day on Wed. or/and on Thurs. and practice sight words. Ask the read and respond questions and initial. Initial the spelling strategies you have used this week too.
Math: We continue with subtraction strategies and problem solving. Complete all math sheets.
Spirit Day- Rainbow Day is this Friday. Our grade level should wear yellow.
Oral Report: Start early and write about a family tradition. Do not wait until next week when it is due. It stresses you and most important your child. Thanks for your support.
Thanksgiving Baskets-thank you for all of your donations! Our two baskets were filled with wonderful goodies for one lucky family. You all are very generous!
Holiday Boutique--please come support our families and PTA this Saturday in the MPR.
VIP Day, Pajama Day, and Holiday Party- join us for these fun filled events on the last day of 2013 at Plum Canyon. We will host these activities on December 19 starting
with VIP Day (7:45-8:30) then a special visitor joins the kids on the yard (Santa--shhh!).
Holiday Breakfast Party will be this day too from 9 am to 10 am.
More details will be emailed by our wonderful room parents.
